GADTC Research and Development Center envisioned to produce quality research outputs towards the improvement and development of academes’ curriculum and instruction as well as society’s quality of life.


Mission

The office serves as a strategic lever of GADTC, research arm of the local government unit and research provider of industries through institutionalizing a research-driven culture with collaborative partnership of qualified and competent reseachers-faculty, staff and students.


Goals

The Research Office of Gov. Alfonso D. Tan College motivates the faculty in embracing and loving research. It hopes to train competent researchers in their field of specialization and to produce quality research for publicatiton. Further, it aids instruction and helps improve quality of life in the community.

Office Description

  1. Provide and implement research capability programs involving faculty, staff and students;

  2. Develop and implement Faculty Research Development Program;

  3. Evaluate and formulate development intervention, and enhancement programs based on quality research ouput;

  4. Serve as liaison office in the publication of faculty research both in local and referred journals and presentaion of researches in local, regional, national and international conferences;

  5. Provide quality research out-puts to institution, LGU, industry and community.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION MAJOR IN MARKETING MANAGEMENT (BSBA-MM)

The Marketing Management program prepares the graduate for careers in marketing, market research, advertising and public relations. The curriculum provides the graduate with both technical skills and competencies required in the field, but also the flexible mindset that is necessary to stay competitive in a constantly changing business environment.


Program Educational Outcome

  1. Articulate and discuss the latest developments in the specific field of practice through critical, analytical, creative thinking and professional expertise with fairness and honesty.

  2. Effectively communicate verbally and orally, and in writing using both English and Filipino to pursue continuous learning through professional development and view the contemporary from both Philippines and global perspectives.

  3. Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams through performing duties and responsibilities with genuine concern towards clients with understanding and respect for human rights.

  4. Act in recognition of professional, social, and ethical responsibility while consistently respecting differences and opinions of others to meaningfully contribute to the country’s development.

  5. Participate actively in the cultural movements on the preservation and promotion of “Filipino historical and cultural heritage” from both Philippines and global perspectives.

  6. Perform the basic functions of management such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling through proficient and effective communication (writing, speaking, and use of technologies) while consistently respecting differences and opinions of others.

  7. Apply the basic concepts that underlie each of the functional areas of business, (marketing, finance, human resource management, production and operations management, information technology, and strategic management) while working effectively in a group and employ these concepts in various business situations with genuine concern towards clients.

  8. Select the proper decision-making tools critically, analytically by using the different analytical modes (quantitative and qualitative, artistic and scientific, textual and visual, experimental, observation, etc.) and creatively solve problems and drive results which are essential for growth and positive relationships.

  9. Express oneself clearly and communicate effectively with stakeholders using appropriate social skills in the professional and social environment with proficient and effective communication skills both in oral and written forms.

  10. Apply information and communication technology (ICT) as required by the business environment through creative and innovative solutions to responsibly negotiate the world of technology.

  11. Work effectively with other stakeholders, and manage conflict in the workplace with understanding and respect for human rights and genuine concern towards clients.

Demonstrate appropriate communication and social skills in the professional and social environment with the application of different analytical modes (quantitative and qualitative, artistic and scientific, textual and visual, experimental, observation, etc.) in talking problems methodically in order to withstand challenges brought about by changing needs of human resource environment and for us to carefully manage a strategic business unit for economic sustainability.

Pursue continuous learning through professional development with higher levels of comprehension (textual, visual etc.) and understanding of basic concepts across the domains of knowledge in order to propose and conduct a research activity for generating data needed to resolve a crisis in a business organization.

Retention Policies
  • A student should maintain a passing grade in all general education courses.

  • A student must have a grade of 82% of their professional/major/core courses. Below the specified rating, the academic load is reduced by three (3) units in the succeeding semester.

  • A student who fails three (3) courses taken during the semester is placed under probation and his/her load in the succeeding semester is reduced by six (6) units.

  • A student must not fail more than five (5) professional courses in his/her program; otherwise, he is advised to shift to another non-board program.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION MAJOR IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (BSBA-HRM)

The Human Resource Management program prepares the graduate for a career in the Human Resources Department of any organization, handling the many diverse human capital requirements of the organization, including recruitment, staffing, training and career development.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN OFFICE ADMINISTRATION (BSOA)

The Bachelor of Science in Office Administration program is a four-year course that prepares the students for a career in an outcome-focused, technology rich, professional environment. Courses in the curriculum are those that will thoroughly familiarize the students with current techniques in office practice and procedures, developments in office systems and technology, good team-working and management skills, and application of the principles of good human relations and communications to prepare them to be key players in day-to-day office operations. Lessons in writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively to employers, employees, and the general public are provided in selected courses. The BSOA program also trains the students to work independently, without need for on-site supervision.

To ensure teaching effectiveness and the attainment of the goals and objectives of BSOA, outcomes-based teaching and learning and modern means of curriculum delivery that will expose the students to the real world of administrative professionals’ tasks like simulation and cooperative education internship in office systems are used.
