In the celebration of the 53rd Anniversary of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), Gov. Alfonso D. Tan College (GADTC) participates in the ASEAN Cultural Showcase and Regional Display of Excellence administered by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region X, on morning of July 27, wherein GADTC represented the country of Vietnam.

In memorandum no. 84 series of 2020 from the Director V of CHED, Raul C. Alvarez Jr., GADTC was requested of its involvement in the Regional Display of Excellence to build up and awareness and exercise responsiveness as a member of the ASEAN.

The theme of this year’s ASEAN celebration was, “Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN”. Among the 108 Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in the entire Region 10, GADTC was one of the selected institutions to represent countries that are part of ASEAN.

To promote the celebration of CHED-Region 10’s ASEAN 2020 celebration, the school was assigned to represent a three to five-minute video presentation, either singing, dancing, or playing musical instrument of the above mentioned country.

Engaging with more than a hundred HEI’s around the region, student and stakeholders were invited to join the event that was aired live in the official Facebook page of CHED Region X. Whilst, school administrators were asked to join via Zoom app.

Other contests such as Essay Writing, Spoken Poetry, Tourism Photography, and Digital poster making also took part during the said celebration.
