In response to the New Normal, the Institute of Senior High School (ISHS) of Gov. Alfonso D. Tan College (GADTC) administered its orientation on September 24-25 for the parents and guardians regarding the opening of classes.

The orientation talked about the mode of learning of the students as the new academic year starts. Ms. Rosemebie Omega, Senior High School (SHS) instructor and the institute's LMS coordinator, said in an interview that, "The orientation was about how students should answer their modules, what are the requirements for Grade 11 students, and the module distribution process."

On the first day, parents of the Grade 11 Block 1 students had their orientation from 9 pm to 12 pm; parents of the Block 2 students (of the same year) had their orientation from 1 pm to 4 pm. This schedule was followed on the following day for the parents of the Grade 12 students.

Dr. Maricelle M. Nueva, OIC-College President of the College, attended the orientation wherein she discussed to the parents the depth understanding of the New Normal for students and how it would take place. Dr. Noriel Erap, Vice President for Academic Affairs, was also present in the two-day orientation. He explained why SHS students were not included in the free tablet distribution of the College. Dr. Erap explained that this matter has something to do with the voucher of the SHS students.

Only those parents from Misamis Occidental attended the said orientation due to the guidelines and health protocols that the City was observing. Even though some had not participated, the said date of orientation showed that most parents were present.

Ms. Omega also said that the students would adopt the modular type of learning in which students will no longer participate in any online classes because the teachers will personally collect their modules in their respective homes.

The ISHS will not also adopt the Blocking System of the College. However, their grading system will change depending on the instruction from the Department of Education (DepEd).

this coming Monday, October 5. This two-day orientation was successfully administered through the strong workforce of the ISHS faculty spearheaded by their principal, Mrs. Ma. Allen G. Apao. The opening of classes will be this coming Monday, October 5.
