ALCU Ph. concludes 1st ALCU Student Leadership Conference

"Pagtatalaga: An intensive Online Course on Student Leadership Development, a two-day online student leadership conference hosted by the ALCU Philippines, finally came to an end  on May 28, via Zoom.

On the second day of the conference, Leadership and Youth empowerment, Ethics vis-a-vis Student Leadership, Developing a Framework for Student Leadership in the ALCU Setting: What we need to know about our responsibilities in a localized college Higher Education, Effective Program Management for Student Leaders, and Student Leaders as a Training ground for professional work, were all discussed by Dr. Rene Colocar, President of ALCU Philippines; Dr. Serafin Aviola Jr., Executive Director of the National coordinating Body of UNESCO Clubs in the Philippines, Inc.; Dr./Atty. Goria Victoria Banas, President of ALCU Region 3;  Dr. Albert Madrigal, President of Pamantasan ng Cabuyao; Prof. David Hind, President of the Aisa Pacific Institute for events management and Leeds, in United Kingdom; and Christopher Paulo Manlapaz, an outstanding  Student of the Philippines, respectively.

At around 5:00 in the afternoon, the Academic Exhange and Synthesis or the recap of the topics and major takeaways of every speakers, was done by Prof. Melonie D. Mater, chairperson of ALCULTURA Inc.

Before the event ended, there was also a selection of two representatives per disctrict for the election  of the Junior ALCU officers.

The two hundred eighty participants expressed their gratitude to the facilitators, event hosts, technical team, and to all of the speakers  who shared their knowledge about leadership development during the course of the event.

Evaluation forms were distributed at every end of the morning and afternoon sessions. Electronic certificates will be sent to the participating school and students through email.
