Tangub City Global College (TCGC) continues to advance its commitment to academic excellence by reinforcing its research culture through a seminar-workshop aimed at empowering faculty researchers toward global publication standards.
Held on March 30, 2026, at the Visitor’s Lounge, the seminar titled “From Manuscript to Masterpiece: Illuminating Faculty Researchers Towards Research Publication Excellence” was spearheaded by the institution’s Research, Extension, Linkages, and Internationalization (RELI) unit. The initiative forms part of TCGC’s ongoing efforts to enhance research productivity, academic visibility, and scholarly impact.
The event featured
John Mark N. Saldivar, a respected
Lasallian academic from La Salle University–Ozamiz City,
as the resource speaker. In his session, Saldivar
provided critical insights into identifying high-impact indexed
journals and avoiding predatory publications—an
increasingly important concern in today’s academic
landscape. He also shared practical strategies for manuscript
preparation and publication, followed by an engaging workshop
that allowed participants to apply these concepts.
Furthermore, the seminar introduced essential digital tools such as ORCID and Google Scholar, which are instrumental in enhancing research visibility, citation tracking, and global academic presence.
This initiative
aligns with the mission of the United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality
Education, by promoting continuous learning and strengthening
higher education systems through faculty development. Through
this initiative, TCGC underscores its dedication to producing
competent researchers and impactful scholarly outputs that
contribute not only to academic advancement but also to
sustainable development and global knowledge exchange.
